You must complete the online application before your appointment. Pre-Apply here . You must attend your appointment and pay the fee to receive your FBN. If you can't complete your application online, please arrive early to complete your application on our kiosks(unless you have an 8:30 AM appt.). Full instructions and FAQs are available here.
Please note that if you intend to file as an LLC, Corporation or Limited Partnership you MUST be registered as such with the California Secretary of State (SOS) before visiting our office. FBN must be signed by a corporate officer listed on your most recent statement of information with the SOS. We recommend bringing your statement of information with you.
If you have more than three separate FBNs to file please contact us to schedule at [email protected] . Customers that do not contact us will be asked to reschedule.
A Fictitious Business Name is not a business license or permit to operate. If you need a business license, please contact the city in which you will be operating or the Fresno County Tax Collector.
